Despite the longtime popularity of the Castlevania series from Konami, the franchise went decades without a proper adaptation. A Castlevania movie or TV series was something fans of the games could only dream of for so many years. Finally, Netflix turned those visions into a reality with an animated series based on the video games, releasing it in July of last year.
As it turned out, the show was an instant hit, and fans ate it up. However, it was painfully short, with the debut season lasting only four episodes long. Everyone seemed to love the show itself, but as it was over so quickly, people were dying for more. Because of its success, however, Netflix was quick to order more episodes, but it’s been a waiting game to see when Season 2 would premiere — until now.
Netflix has revealed that Castlevania Season 2 will be available for streaming on October 26th, 2018. It will be running much longer than the first season as well, with eight episodes attached to the season. As per other Netflix shows, every episode will be available to watch right away, giving us all a chance to binge it on day one. And although eight episodes is certainly much better than four, it’s still not going to take us long at all to get through Season 2!
Like with Season 1, the second season will be written by comic book writer Warren Ellis. Richard Armitage, who provides the voice of hero Trevor Belmont, will also be returning. Furthermore, Armitage says there are already plans to do a third season as well, despite Season 2 not even airing yet. Netflix clearly has some faith in this series.
Season 1 of Castlevania is currently available to stream on Netflix. Season 2 will premiere on October 26th, 2018. Check out a teaser trailer for the series below!
