Bendy and the Ink Machine via Joey Drew Studios

Early last year, Joey Drew Studios and Rooster Teeth Games‘ PC game Bendy and the Ink Machine debuted its first of five episodes, becoming an instant success. In the survival horror game, players took on the role of a retired animator in the 1960’s who falls prey to homicidal cartoon characters. With phenomenal reviews and a huge following with PC gamers, the sleeper hit is one of the most talked about horror games of the present day.

Finally, gamers on consoles will be given a chance to check out Bendy and the Ink Machine starting next month. On Oct. 26, the full version of the game – containing all five episodes – will be available to purchase on Xbox One and PS4 consoles. The Nintendo Switch version will follow a month later, arriving on that console on Nov. 20. This is perfect for console gamers who love survival horror titles, but haven’t been able to play the game on PC.

At first glance, it’s clear that what sets this game apart from other horror titles is its art style. Based on animation from the 1930’s, Bendy and his pals are like haunting, horror parodies of those early black-and-white Mickey Mouse cartoons from Disney. Could you imagine if these joyous-looking characters were somehow brought into the real world by a magical ink machine, only for them to try to kill you? That’s basically Bendy and the Ink Machine.

On the PC/Steam version of the game, the first four of five overall chapters are already available. The fifth and final chapter will arrive on PC on Oct. 26, the same day the Xbox One and PS4 versions go on sale. As mentioned above, the console versions will come complete with all five episodes.
