It’s now been over three years since the world lost Roddy Piper, and for every single one of his fans, the legend is very missed. With so much still left to offer, Piper was taken from us way too soon, but his legacy will continue to live on forever. To help keep the wild spirit of the Rowdy one alive, Mess Bucket Comics is looking to bring back Piper as the star of a new comic book entitled “Rowdy” Rseroddy Piper: The Kilted Avenger!
To help fund this venture, Mess Bucket Comics’ owner and writer Dominic Riccio has turned to IndieGogo to get the fans in on the action by offering various perks. Riccio will be writing the comic, with Erik Hodson illustrating. Officially approved by Piper’s wife Kitty Toombs (who also appears in the book), the comic will be distributed by Pro Wrestling Tees upon its release, which is tentatively set for early 2020.
Synopsis:Â The greatest wrestler of all time, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, is back with a fun story where he fights to save the world from the tyranny of Ruth S. Heel. Roddy is a talk show host by day and vigilante by night that will stop at nothing to bring his brand of justice.
Nothing can ever replace the real “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. However, this seems like a fun way to pay homage to the wrestling legend. We would love to see this project come to fruition, so if you have the money to spare, please consider donating to this campaign to be one of the first to receive the comic when it sees its release. Find out more info and donate over at IndieGogo.
Several name wrestlers are supporting this project, as seen in a promotional video for the campaign. This includes Buff Bagwell, Simon Gotch, Victoria, Teddy Long, Lanny “The Genius” Poffo, The Blue Meanie, Colt Cabana, and many others. You can take a look at that below.
