It’s not unusual for restaurants to get a little festive with their holiday-themed food items, but Burger King always goes the extra mile. We’ve seen them bring us a straight up black-as-coal Halloween Whopper in the past, and later a bright red sandwich known as the Angriest Whopper. More recently, they’ve been offering a Scary Black Cherry frozen Fanta drink for consumers, but now the company is releasing what could be their most bizarre food item yet.

This week, Burger King unveiled their all new seasonal sandwich known as the Nightmare King. Like those other weird burgers, this sandwich comes with a colored bun as well, this time with a dark green bun. While Herbert West or the Toxic Avenger would be proud, it’s not the most appetizing thing to look at for the rest of us, but oddly enough, the color is not the strangest part about the Nightmare King.

Apparently, the restaurant chain partnered up with Florida Sleep & Neuro Diagnostic Services for an actual study on 100 test subjects who ate the Nightmare King. With researchers monitoring their sleeping patterns, they were able to determine when the consumers were having vivid dreams. According to their results, people who eat the Nightmare King are 3.5 times more likely to have a nightmare that night. Supposedly, this is due to the unique blend of proteins and cheese lead to interruptions in the sleepers’ rapid-eye movement (REM) cycles.

According to Burger King, the Nightmare King will have “a quarter-pound of flame-grilled beef, a white meat crispy chicken fillet, melted American cheese, thick-cut bacon, mayonnaise and onions on a glazed green sesame seed bun.” It certainly sounds delicious, but eating it will mandate getting over the oddly-colored bun, which will be more challenging for some than for others.

Selling for around $6.39, the Nightmare King will begin selling at participating Burger King locations on Monday, Oct. 22. From Oct. 22 through Oct. 25, the delivery service Postmates will be delivering the sandwich free of charge with the promotional code “scarygood.” If you plan to eat the Nightmare King, good luck!
