The time that Red Dead Redemption 2 fans have been waiting for is finally upon us. The Red Dead Online Beta starts tomorrow, Tuesday, November 27th. After the insane success that was GTA Online with GTA V, Rockstar is starting the next chapter in online support for their biggest game yet. Now we can greet our friends with ‘howdy’ and not get a weird look.
In the online world of Red Dead Redemption 2, you can explore the wild west on your own or with friends. You can start a posse of up to 7 players and chill around a campfire, go hunting, hunt for treasure, or fight a rival gang and attack their hideouts.

The Red Dead Online Beta begins at 8:30 am EST on November 27th for players who have purchased the Ultimate Edition of the game. Those players will have to redeem the code that came with their game in order to gain access. Those who started playing the regular edition on October 26th will gain access the following day, on November 28th. On November 29th, anyone who have played between October 26th and October 29th will gain access. Finally, on Friday, Red Dead Online Beta access is open to all players who own Red Dead Redemption 2.
The purpose of the Red Dead Online Beta is to test the online servers with a limited player base, which explains the stagnant roll out of the beta over the course of the week. Players who take part in it are encouraged to report problems and share ideas about the online world with Rockstar. When the Red Dead Online Beta is up and running, joining in is easy. All you have to do is select ‘Online’ in the top right of the title menu screen and you will be joining in on the fun.
