When Ash vs Evil Dead ended its run on Starz last year, it was certainly bittersweet. It was sad to see such an amazing show come to a close with so much potential left to offer. Still, the network gave Evil Dead fans the return of Bruce Campbell as Ash for one final run, slaying Deadites throughout three seasons with the help of the Ghost Beaters. Campbell has since retired from playing Ash, but he’ll soon be starring as the host of another TV series: Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
As tweeted by the official Twitter account for Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Campbell will host The Travel Channel’s new iteration of the series. Additionally, Campbell confirmed his appearance on the show, but it’s not yet clear when this year the series will air. What’s definite is that it will air sometime in 2019, giving fans of Campbell something new to look forward to in the coming months.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is known for shining a spotlight on unusual people, places, and events from throughout the world. Beginning in 1918 as a newspaper feature, the title has evolved across other mediums in the decades since. The franchise has expanded to radio and TV shows, with the first series on television beginning in 1949. It’d have revivals in the ’80s as well as the early 2000s. Campbell will be joining the likes of Jack Palance, Dean Cain, and founder Robert Ripley as official hosts of Ripley’s television shows.

Meanwhile, Campbell has been taking on other acting gigs as well. The Evil Dead fan favorite has appeared as one of the most memorable characters on the AMC series Ladder 49. Campbell may have hung up the chainsaw, but it looks like we’ll still be seeing plenty of the chin on our TV sets in the future.
