Joe, Transformers, Masters of the Universe…revisit it all.

3The Eighties

Appropriately named, The Eighties is a docuseries with eight episodes, each focusing on events from the decade. Topics cover politics, technology, and pop culture and include the Cold War, influential television shows, the AIDS crisis, and the Reagan Era. If you want a real look back featuring the good and the bad, this series is the way to go.

4GLOW

Set in the mid-’80s, GLOW follows fictionalized events and characters from the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, which was an actual syndicated women’s professional wrestling circuit. The big hair, spandex, wrestling, and mentions of current events will take you right back. Plus, the show features well-written characters, a great cast, plenty of laughs, and is one of the best Netflix originals released so far. Season 1 and 2 are now available, with Season 3 in the works.

5Stranger Things

How could we possibly have an ’80s throwback list and NOT mention Stranger Things?! The series first premiered in 2016 and helped fuel the nostalgic trend. The series follows a group of Dungeons & Dragons-playing kids as they discover that monsters are indeed real, as is the “Upside Down,” after their friend disappears into the void. It is The Goonies meets Monster Squad meets E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. There are two seasons to currently binge on, with Season 3 coming July 4, 2019.
