The only man that can stop this fiend? The Dark Knight. In a mystery taking place during Batman’s early days of crime fighting, Batman: The Long Halloween is one of the greatest Dark Knight stories ever told.Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon, Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim each month. A mystery that has the reader continually guessing the identity of the killer, this story also ties into the events that transform Harvey Dent into Batman’s deadly enemy, Two-Face.“

Revenge of the Fans has now reported that Batman: The Long Halloween will get a two-part animated film from DC Entertainment and will be a stand-alone story. It should be noted that the news source is not named “for fear of this affecting their job,” but they have been credible on past DC-related news. Hopefully we see this project come to fruition, but we need to put that out there.

Along with the two-part animated film confirmation, the lead cast has also been named, without any word on exactly who the actors will portray. First is Troy Baker, a popular voice actor in TV, film, and video games. He has voiced Batman before in multiple projects including Batman: The Telltale Series and Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Even though Baker has also taken on the role of Two-Face, it seems highly likely that he would play The Bat once again. Jensen Ackles was also listed, most known for playing Dean Winchester in Supernatural. Ackles has experience as a voice actor, even portraying Jason Todd/Red Hood in Batman: Under the Red Hood. The other names listed were Naya Rivera (GleeDevious Maids), Titus Welliver (Sons of Anarchy, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and David Dastmalchian (Bird Box, Ant-Man and the Wasp).

Hopefully we get an official confirmation soon from DC, along with more information about Batman: The Long Halloween. It is definitely exciting news for fans!
