Just when it seemed like the franchise starting with 1984’s A Nightmare on Elm Street was did, creator Wes Craven would reinvent it with the 1994 sequel New Nightmare. Set in the “real world,” this film’s version of Freddy Krueger is something much more than the dream demon shown in all of the previous movies, targeting real-life franchise actress Heather Langenkamp and her family. To keep her son safe, Heather must find a way to stop this the supernatural force which has taken on the form of the boogeyman she’s fought in movies.

The sequel is a favorite for many fans of the movie series, and now NECA is giving the film some more love by revealing their upcoming New Nightmare Freddy Krueger! NECA’s New Nightmare Freddy stands at 8″ tall and is fully poseable. It comes with two interchangeable heads, with removable clothing (trench coat and hat). The figure also comes in NECA’s trademark resealable clamshell packaging, if you decide to put Freddy back in the box. No matter how you choose to display it, it can’t be denied that it looks really, really awesome.

Also recently revealed by NECA was our first full look at their upcoming Laurie Strode from Halloween action figure. Based on her appearance in the 2018 movie from director David Gordon Green, the figure will be the first ever made for the character. When you consider that Laurie has been one of the most popular horror heroes for over four decades, it’s needless to say that the figure is long overdue.
