The Walking Dead continues to shamble along on AMC, and will continue to do so until at least 2020. On her personal Instagram account, showrunner Angela Kang has confirmed with a teaser video that the network has renewed the show for Season 10.
As with past seasons, Season 10 is promised to arrive in October, although the exact date has yet to be revealed. For now, those watching can finish out Season 9 knowing there will be more to look forward to following the season finale.
The Walking Dead first aired on AMC in October of 2010. Nobody could have predicted the massive hit the series would turn out to be, becoming one of the most-watched television programs of all time. Ratings may have cooled down a bit compared to what they once were, but as it stands, the show remains one of the most popular on TV. So as long as ratings don’t continue to dip further in the episodes ahead, we could see it stick around into Season 11 and beyond.

At this point in the series, many fan favorites have since been written out. Carl Grimes was infamously killed in the middle of Season 8, with his father leaving the show partway into the first half of Season 9. Maggie has since vanished as well, as actress Lauren Cohan has moved on to a new show called Whiskey Cavalier. However, some major players still remain, including Daryl Dixon and Michonne. Both can be seen in a new preview video for the upcoming midseason finale, and you can also watch that below.
