‘Halloween H20’: 10 Things You May Not Know

Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later may no longer exist in the current Halloween continuity, but many franchise fans still remember the flick fondly. Let’s revisit the 1998 slasher sequel with these ten killer facts about the film!

2There’s a cameo from Jamie Lee Curtis’s real-life mother

Before there was Laurie Strode, Marion Crane was perhaps the most well-known of all the leading ladies from the horror genre. Portrayed by Janet Leigh, the character appeared in the classic Alfred Hitchcock horror film Psycho. Because she seemed like a lock to survive the film, audiences were shocked when she was stabbed to death in the shower in the movie’s most iconic scene.

In actuality, Leigh is the real-life mother of Jamie Lee Curtis. This makes Leigh’s cameo in Halloween H20 all the more special. The two share the screen together for a scene early in the film, with Leigh playing Laurie Strode’s co-worker Norma Watson. Referencing their real-life relationship, Norma offers Laurie some “maternal” advice after bumping into her on campus.

This was Leigh’s first performance in a theatrical film in 18 years, having previously appeared in the 1980’s The FogCoincidentally enough, that movie also starred Leigh’s daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis.
