‘Halloween H20’: 10 Things You May Not Know

Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later may no longer exist in the current Halloween continuity, but many franchise fans still remember the flick fondly. Let’s revisit the 1998 slasher sequel with these ten killer facts about the film!

5Its working title was Halloween 7: The Revenge of Laurie Strode

Because people weren’t happy with Halloween III: Season of the Witch presenting an entirely new horror story completely unrelated to Michael Myers, fans of the franchise were livid. This led to the decision to bring the boogeyman back in the next sequel, aptly named Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. This method of subtitling the movies in the series would continue with the next two films, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers and Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers.

Originally, the working title for Halloween H20 was going to follow suit in this same way. Referencing how Laurie fights back and (presumably) puts an end to Michael’s reign of terror in the movie’s climax, the sequel was originally called Halloween 7: The Revenge of Laurie Strode. Most likely because of the decision to disconnect the film from parts 4, 5, and 6, however, the movie was ultimately given the name Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later instead.

The Revenge of Laurie Strode could have also been a fitting subtitle for the 2018 movie. But considering that we know Michael will be back soon enough anyway, it would seem she hasn’t truly gotten her revenge yet after all.
