In less than a week, Jesse V. Johnson’s action epic Triple Threat will be hitting over 150 screens for a one-night only event on March 19th. This film is one of my most anticipated of the year and Well Go USA has just released the first official clip featuring Iko Uwais and Tiger Chen doing what they do best: kicking ass!
For those who are unfamiliar, Triple Threat brings together three of Asia’s top action stars, Tony Jaa (Ong Bak), Iko Uwais (The Raid), and Tiger Chen (Man of Tai Chi). Uwais appeared very briefly in Man of Tai Chi with Chen, but this is the very first time the three of them will co-star together. These names alone should be enough to set the genre on fire, but there’s more. Add in Michael Jai White (Spawn), Scott Adkins (Savage Dog), Celina Jade (Wolf Warrior 2), Michael Bisping (XXX: The Return of Xander Cage), and Jeeja Yanin (This Girl is Badass) and this thing just became an epic like no other.
The story follows a down-and-out team of mercenaries that have to stop a group of ruthless assassins before they take out their target who just happens to be a billionaire’s daughter who is intent on bringing down a major crime syndicate.
