Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista has signed on to appear in a lead role for the Netflix zombie heist movie Army of the Dead. The film will be helmed by Dawn of the Dead and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder, who co-wrote the screenplay with Shay Hatten. Snyder is also producing the flick, along with Deborah Snyder. Ori Marmur and Andrew Norman are overseeing the project for Netflix.

In Army of the Dead, the story takes place  “amid a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble: venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.” Perhaps best described as Ocean’s Eleven meets Dawn of the Dead, it’s safe to assume we’ll be seeing Bautista laying waste to scores of the undead.

Speaking of Bautista, the wrestler-turned-actor will be heading back to WWE this weekend for a high profile match at WrestleMania 35. He’ll be taking on longtime nemesis Triple H in one of the event’s featured matches. It will be a WrestleMania rematch, as Bautista previously fought “The Game” at the big event back in 2005. This time, the bout is being advertised as the Bautista’s final wrestling match for WWE.

We’ll all be seeing Bautista back on the big screen this month, as he’ll be reprising the role of Drax the Destroyer in Avengers: Endgame. That movie hits theaters on April 26. He can then be seen in the action comedy film Stuber, co-starring with Kumail Nanjiani. After having its world premiere at SXSW, the film will open in theaters on July 12. Fans of Bautista’s can also look forward to Dune and Guardians of the Galaxy 3. The trailer for another upcoming movie of his, My Spy, was also recently released, and you can take a look at it below.
