‘Lucifer’ Season 4 Trailer: Will Chloe Accept the Devil?

Lucifer fans rejoice! Season 4 is almost upon us, and, judging by the new trailer from Netflix, it is going to kick-off with a bang. After the show lost its viewership momentum while airing on Fox, the network canceled the show in May of 2018 after three seasons. The last episode of season 3, “A Devil of My Word,” ended on a huge cliffhanger, which prompted fans to rally on social media using #SaveLucifer and #PickUpLucifer, resulting in Netflix saving the show and moving forward with season 4.

At the end of season 3, the moment fans have waited for since the first episode happened- Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) saw who, or what, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) really is. Of course, he has always been forthcoming about his true nature, but she never quite believed it, despite seeing things she couldn’t explain. But, it is all out in the open and she has seen the devil-faced Lucifer. So, what now?

In the new season 4 trailer, we find that Chloe is in a bit of denial and not exactly dealing with the truth. Lucifer, in turn, begins spiraling as he is prone to do, with sex parties and drinking. Suddenly a new, or should I say ancient, woman comes into his life…Eve. As in Adam and Eve. The world’s original sinner. And, unlike Chloe, she accepts Lucifer for what he is, which he finds comfort in. It isn’t long before he starts bringing her on cases, much to Chloe’s dismay.

Ah, but that’s not all. Not only has the Devil found himself a lover, but a man tells Chloe, “When the Devil finds his first love, evil shall be released.” That doesn’t sound too hopeful. Or, as Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) puts it, “I’m guessing this isn’t gonna end well.” We shall see.

Lucifer season 4 will be available on Netflix on Wednesday, May 8th. Buckle up, folks!
