Wales Comic Con Brings the Geeky Fun this Weekend

Wales Comic Con is now in its 11th year, bringing fans and stars of films, TV, comics, gaming, and sport together. It’s held twice a year, at Glyndŵr University in Wrexham, North Wales, and 2019’s first run will not disappoint.

There’s over 65 guests attending the Con throughout the weekend, taking part in photo-ops, signings, and panels. They include Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), David Tennant (Doctor Who), Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy), Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter, Avengers), as well as multiple cast members from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, The Umbrella Academy, Game of Thrones, and Gotham.

There’s also artists and writers from the world of comics, including Neil Edwards (Spider-Man, Dark Avengers), Nick Brokenshire (Judge Dredd, Star Wars), and Gavin Rodrigues (Marvel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Gaming and animation voice-over actors from titles such as Assassin’s Creed, Overwatch, Gears of War, and Mass Effect will also be in attendance, as well as Monica Rial (Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia). Throughout the weekend, these guests will take part in Q&A sessions and meet and greets (the latter for an extra fee). Panels from the cast of Sabrina, Gotham, Lord of the Rings and the Marvel Universe are amongst those entertaining over the two days.

The Con also boasts movie cars for photo ops, a Gaming Arena with competitions, a Trader’s Marquee brimming with handmade merchandise and incredible art, and thanks to a deal signed during their 10-year anniversary last year with Kinder, free Bueno chocolate bars at the event. Wales Comic Con loves cosplay too, with the Cosplay Masquerade taking place on Sunday, giving prizes to the best creative costumes and performances.
