‘Voorhees’ Enters Post-Production, Jason Returns in September

Voorhees / Wet Paint Pictures

There are multiple Friday the 13th fan films currently in the works, with some still in their crowdfunding stages. However, there is only one which has an official release date attached, and the film’s release is now less than two months away. Voorhees, the Friday the 13th fan film, will be released online on Sept. 13, 2019. Better yet, that’s going to be an actual Friday the 13th, meaning fans can watch a new Jason movie to celebrate the occasion.

Now completely wrapped with filming and on track to be released in September, Voorhees has recently officially entered post-production, and Jason’s next killing spree is being edited, colored, and scored. It might be a fan film and not a studio release, but it will feature Jason Voorhees hacking people up in Crystal Lake once again. And that’s what we’re all really dying to see.

One the most interesting aspects of Voorhees is the unique set of victims who wind up on Jason’s turf. This will not be another run-of-the-mill story about Jason butchering a group of campers or camp counselors at Camp Crystal Lake. Now, it’s a group of dangerous criminals hiding out in the area, even with a couple hostages in tow. Will Jason show any pity whatsoever towards the abducted women, only going for the criminals? Or, will the masked murderer go for whomever he can get his hands on first? Knowing Jason like we do, we’re betting it’s the latter.

If you haven’t seen the second trailer for Voorhees, you can do so below to get an idea of what to expect. Also be sure to mark those calendars for Sept. 13, when you can check out the free-to-watch fan film when it premieres online!

Synopsis: After pulling off the perfect heist a dangerous crew of thieves flee town to the seclusion of the nearby woods. All they have to do is make it through the night so they can get away clean but their sadistic leader has taken them to the long deserted Camp Crystal Lake, a place that is no longer on any maps and for good reason.

Unaware of the location’s notorious past the fugitives begin to explore their temporary hideout and soon realize that this place has a very dark and violent history that they are soon about to become part of.

It is a race to morning where the lines between bad and pure evil are blurred and the fight to survive the awakened legend of Camp Crystal Lake is much more than they bargained for.
