There has been a lot of anticipation for the release of the Friday the 13th fan film Friday the 13th: Vengeance, and the movie is now free to watch on YouTube. After a highly successful crowdfunding campaign and many months of anticipation, the movie’s release not-so-coincidentally comes on the evening of an actual Friday the 13th in October. Without a doubt, it’s awesome to celebrate the occasion with the release of an all-new Jason movie, fan-made or not.
One aspect which really makes Friday the 13th: Vengeance special is how it brings back some familiar faces from the franchise. C.J. Graham, who played Jason Voorhees in Jason Lives, plays Jason’s father Elias in Vengeance. Friday the 13th Part 2‘s Steve Dash (R.I.P.) also appears in the movie as a policeman. Some of the other names in the cast include Jason Brooks as Jason Voorhees, Kelly Tappan as Angelica Jarvis, Luke Schuck as Robert Thompson, and Sanae Loutsis as Ashley Jarvis.

Synopsis: 30 years ago Tommy Jarvis sent Jason Voorhees to the bottom of Camp Crystal Lake, but a new mysterious force has entered the community and Tommy is missing some 30 years later. It is up to his daughter Angelica and her friends to find him before Jason does.
We have now gone a full decade with a Friday the 13th movie in theaters, so I say let’s continue bringing in more fan films such as this one. If it’s up to the fans to keep Jason’s spirit alive until the lawsuit over the franchise ends, then I’d say they’re doing tremendous work. The film franchise might be on hold, Jason Voorhees isn’t going anywhere. Kudos to everyone involved with Friday the 13th: Vengeance for doing such an awesome job!
