Finally, “Weird Al” Yankovic Chia Pets Have Arrived!

Originally modeled after animals like turtles, dogs, and sheep, Chia Pets have gotten better than ever in recent years with new versions based on some of pop culture’s most beloved characters. That includes Chia Pets based on Rick and Morty, The Golden Girls, Dustin from Stranger Things, Slimer from Ghostbusters, and Chewbacca from Star Wars. As wonderful as those all have been, we have a new champion, as a “Weird Al” Yankovic Chia Pet has been revealed.

It doesn’t look like the “Weird Al” Chia Pets will be shipping until this summer, but some retail outlets like Big Bad Toy Store already have them up for pre-order. Also up for pre-order are several other new additions to line of Chia Pets, which includes Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid, Poppy from Trolls World Tour, a screaming Pennywise from IT, and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Of course, from this writer’s view, there has never been a Chia Pet this world has more badly needed than this new one modeled after “Weird Al” Yankovic. Longtime fans will recognize that the Chia Pet features the classic “Weird Al” look, with the Hawaiian shirt, trademark spectacles, and old-school mustache. Yankovic has since grown out his locks and shaved his facial hair, though big fans of the parodist still remember his classic look and material rather fondly.
