Bruce Campbell Still Wants More ‘Brisco County, Jr.’

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. | Warner Bros. Ent.

Bruce Campbell might be done playing Ash in the Evil Dead franchise, but he didn’t say anything about never hopping back into the saddle as Brisco County, Jr. Running for 27 episodes on Fox in the early ’90s, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. starred Campbell as a bounty hunter in the American West of 1893. Also starring Julius Carry and Christian Clemenson, the series also featured notable guest stars like John Astin, Billy Drago, and R. Lee Ermey.

Although the network ended The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. after one season, the series developed a cult following and later found new audiences with its DVD release. This has led to many fans hoping to see Campbell one day resurrect the series with all-new episodes, following a more mature version of Brisco living out his days in the old West. Seeing an opportunity to bring a moment of levity to his fans on April Fool’s Day, Campbell teased a reboot by tweeting a mock poster for The New Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. with a bearded, older Bruce on the cover.

As people have been excited about this concept for years, many of Campbell’s fans were quick to get excited about the poster before realizing it had been posted on April 1st. The tweet brought about several responses from fans expressing disappointment that the poster is fake, capturing Campbell’s attention and prompting a reply. To his followers, Campbell apologized for the April Fool’s joke, though he noted he’d still very much be on board for a reboot by offering this response.

“Yeah, okay, sorry about that. Didn’t mean to piss anyone off. Just a little levity to lighten the load of life. And never say never – personally, I would love a reboot!”

You ain’t the only one, Bruce.
