‘Resident Evil 3’ is Getting an Official Board Game

Resident Evil 3 | Capcom

From Capcom and Steamforged Games, a board game adaptation is in the works of the popular action/horror game Resident Evil 3. Just this month, Capcom released the all-new video game remake of the classic title, re-imagining Jill Valentine’s escape from Raccoon City for gamers on modern consoles.

Now, those who’ve already played through the remake and are left wanting more can now look forward to experiencing the game in another new way with the release of Resident Evil 3: The Board Game. The project will seek its funding through Kickstarter, with the campaign set to launch later this month on April 28. You can visit the official page for the Kickstarter campaign now to be notified for when it goes live.

“It’s a privilege and an honour to be working with Capcom once again to bring the horrors of Raccoon City to the tabletop,” Steamforged Games Creative Director Mat Hart says of the project. “Steamforged is proud of its proven ability to bring video game properties to life and lovingly craft them into high-quality board and card games. Resident Evil™ 3: The Board Game will surprise and challenge even the most hardcore RE fans. It will have players running from Nemesis like it’s 1999!”

Resident Evil 3: The Board Game is described as a “cooperative survival horror game for 1-4 players that can be experienced either through individual, one-shot scenarios, or as a 19+ hour campaign with an overarching storyline.” With every player working together, surviving each game will require players to “carefully manage resources, make intelligent and meaningful decisions, and be wary of curveballs thrown by the tension deck.”
