The DC/Vertigo comics series Sweet Tooth (created, written, and illustrated by Jeff Lemire) is being adapted as a Netflix original series by Robert Downey Jr’s production company, Team Downey. RDJ and his wife Susan Downey are executive producers on the series, along with Beth Schwartz, Jim Mickle, and Amanda Burrell. Linda Moran and Evan Moore are on-board as producers.

Sweet Tooth is a story that takes place in the post-apocalypse where human/animal hybrids are a thing. It follows Gus, a human/animal hybrid, who lived with his father in seclusion all his life. One day he’s forced to leave his isolated life behind and realizes the entire country is a wasteland. On a quest to dodge those who are out to do him wrong, Gus ends up learning a lot about what happened to the world, as well as what happened to him, and how people like him came to be.
