The Muppets are making their streaming debut in their first unscripted series Muppets Now, debuting July 31st on Disney+. Ahead of the show’s debut, Disney has just released the official trailer for the new series, showcasing Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and some of our other favorites from The Muppets Show and its various spin-offs and movie adaptations. The series will feature the characters doing improv comedy along with various celebrity special guests.

From the press release:
“In the six-episode season, Scooter rushes to make his delivery deadlines and upload the brand-new Muppet series for streaming. They are due now, and he’ll need to navigate whatever obstacles, distractions, and complications the rest of the Muppets throws at him.
Overflowing with spontaneous lunacy, surprising guest stars and more frogs, pigs, bears (and whatevers) than legally allowed, the Muppets cut loose in “Muppets Now” with the kind of startling silliness and chaotic fun that made them famous. From zany experiments with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker to lifestyle tips from the fabulous Miss Piggy, each episode is packed with hilarious segments, hosted by the Muppets showcasing what the Muppets do best.”
Created by Jim and Jane Henson, The Muppets have been around since 1955. After making appearances on other programs, they were given their own show when The Muppet Show premiered in 1976. In the years since, they would also appear in a series of theatrical movies, notably including 1999’s Muppets from Space with an amusing cameo from “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan. They returned to television in 2016 for a new primetime series on ABC, but the stint was sadly short-lived. Hopefully, Animal and the others will fare much better in the streaming world.
Muppets Now will premiere on Disney+ on July 31st.
