Waxwork Records has been shoveling out amazing horror scores with beautiful vinyl presses since 2013, and their new re-release of GOBLIN’s 1978 Dawn of the Dead soundtrack is no exception. As part of Waxwork Records’ “Living Dead” trilogy, this deluxe 2xLP 180 Gram edition comes in a gorgeous “Sunrise” press with brilliant jacket artwork by BUTCHER BOY. With many limited versions of the film’s score being released on vinyl from several other companies, this is the first time the soundtrack has been released in its entirety.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with GOBLIN, they’re an Italian prog-rock band known for often collaborating with renowned Italian horror directors, like Dario Argento and Luigi Cozzi. They excel in dark brooding beats that quickly kickstart to 11 with driving riffs and killer synth & keyboard work. Some other works of theirs you may be familiar with are the soundtracks from Suspiria (1977), Phenomena, and Contamination.
