Ryan Murphy has revealed the poster along with some details about American Horror Stories, the upcoming spinoff to his popular FX horror series American Horror Story. For years, AHS has been a mainstay on the FX network, introducing separate standalone stories to be told in every season of the show. In a tweet posted to his official Twitter account, Murphy confirms that the new spinoff will be even more of an anthology, delivering separate stories to be told in each episode.
“It’s the AHS spin off. We are doing 16 one hour stand alone episodes delving into horror myths, legends and lore…many of these episodes will feature AHS stars you know and love. More to follow…” Murphy posted on Twitter.
Murphy first revealed that the spinoff was in the works back in May, although he held back from divulging many details. Although initially intended to air on the FX network, it has since been reported that American Horror Stories will instead stream on FX on Hulu. It was also announced that Sarah Paulson would be serving as a director for the show, and although no cast members have been confirmed, it seems likely she’ll appear in at least one episode.
Of course, we’ll probably see several other American Horror Story stars appear as well, especially given Murphy’s new comments. We’ve frequently seen the same actors return to play different characters in various seasons of American Horror Story. From Evan Peters to Kathy Bates among several others, we’ll probably see many other familiar faces appear with sixteen separate stories for the new anthology series to tell.
No word yet on when American Horror Stories will begin streaming. You can take a look at the official poster for the series below, courtesy of Ryan Murphy on Twitter.
