Fans of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video games rejoice! The Montreal-based Tribute Games (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game) and Dotemu (Streets of Rage 4) are teaming up to release a brand-new classic-style beat-em-up brawler, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.
This new four-player side-scroller taps into the 16-bit-filled nostalgia surrounding the 1989 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game and its amazing sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time. By the looks of the trailer, many fan-favorite villains will appear for our shelled heroes to tussle with, including Bebop and Rocksteady, Baxter the Fly, and the Triceratons.

We can all go ahead and expect a rockin’ soundtrack, considering the companies’ previous game soundtracks and the new theme song, sang by Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle). The art style seems to heavily reflect the ’80s-’90s cartoon as well. Watch the trailer below.
Per the developers, his is the official description of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge:
“With Bebop and Rocksteady amassing gizmos to support Krang and Shredder’s latest scheme, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge finds the turtles battling through a breathless tour of iconic TMNT locations to thwart their nemeses’ most diabolical plan yet. Armed with shell-shocking new abilities built on a foundation of classic brawling mechanics, the gang are in for an exhilarating, Foot Clan-stomping romp leading them through the sewers and bustling boroughs of New York City all the way to Dimension X.”
Although no official release date or console inclusions have been announced, you can bet Turtles fans of all ages will be jumping at the chance to team up with their buddies once again to save the world from Shred-Head. I call Donatello!
