The cult classic horror game Zombies Ate My Neighbors and its sequel Ghoul Patrol are getting re-released this month on Nintendo Switch. Bundled together as Lucasfilm Classic Games: Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol, the release marks the first time the classic titles have been released on a new console since the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors followed two teenagers, Zeke and Julie, as they try to save the neighborhood from not just zombies, but every kind of supernatural menace imaginable: werewolves, vampires, mummies, blobs, alien invaders, giant ants, chainsaw-wielding maniacs, evil dolls, and even a gargantuan baby. Its length and difficulty meant beating the game was quite a challenge, but its humor, music, and 2-player mode made for very addictive gameplay.
Zeke and Julie return in Ghoul Patrol, the follow-up title that is even more obscure than its predecessor. The sequel focuses more on ghost enemies with the teenagers time traveling to take out malevolent spirits at different points in history. Its gameplay is for the most party very similar, just with different enemies and new weapons to employ.
