Summer Game Fest 2021 kicked off with a bang as Gearbox Software and 2K Games announced the standalone Borderlands spin-off video game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. As you can see in the trailer below, the title has the franchise elements we’re familiar with, and is an evolution for the Looter-Shooter genre, featuring high fantasy themes and lore.

The cast of celebrity talent involved in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands include Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes, Will Arnett, Ashly Burch, and the return of Butt Stallion. The game will involve new mechanics like spell casting, and will also allow players to fully customize their characters, unlike the Borderlands series. In the game, Borderland’s Tiny Tina acts as the player’s Bunkermaster (a sort of dungeon master, I’m guessing), guiding the player on their quest to slay the Dragon Lord.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is set to launch in early 2022, with more information hopefully coming this summer. Until then, excited fans can check out PlayWonderlands.com.
