During their E3 2021 conference, Xbox gave us a deeper look into the upcoming game in the Halo franchise, Halo Infinite. As this year marks not only the 20th anniversary of Xbox but of Halo as well, Xbox is committed to celebrating the achievement. Halo Infinite will have a free-to-play multiplayer release alongside it’s epic campaign when the game launches later this year.

Xbox also unveiled a cinematic look at more lore from Infinite’s story, including news of Cortana’s deletion and another sassy AI companion joining Chief on his journey. The cinematic also showcased Master Chief’s newest tool, the grappler. Xbox teased Halo Infinite’s setting as the largest and most wide open environment they have ever created for the Halo franchise.
Finally, we got a look at Halo Infinite’s multiplayer gameplay. The multiplayer aspect will be optimized for Xbox Series X and will offer players 120 FPS 4K action. Halo Infinite’s inaugural multiplayer season and its epic campaign will launch together this holiday season, exclusively for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game will also launch on Game Pass on DAY ONE!
