E3 2021: ‘The Outer Worlds 2’ Confirmed

Bethesda / Xbox

During their E3 2021 conference, Bethesda and Xbox announced the much anticipated sequel to 2019 game The Outer Worlds. Titled The Outer Worlds 2, the game got a very… honest… announce trailer during the conference. The game will be developed by Obsidian Entertainment, who previously developed 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas, also published by Bethesda Softworks.

There is not much known about The Outer Worlds 2 at this time, including a confirmed release date. The trailer even admits the only thing to really show at this point is the title. But, hey, we’ll take it! However, the official Twitter account mentions a new star system and a new crew.

The sequel will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, and Windows 10 PC. The first title was available on Xbox Game Pass day one, and it seems part 2 will do the same.

In ‘The Outer Worlds’, lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
