While fans will most likely have to wait until February for more details including the plot, Terry Kiser (Friday the 13th Part VII, Weekend at Bernie’s) and Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night, Haunt) lead the cast. The Mutilator alumni Ruth Martinez (who played Pam) and Bill Hitchcock (who played Ralph) will be returning for the sequel.

The Mutilator follows Ed Jr. (Matt Mitler: Deadtime Stories, TV’s Pokémon) who accidentally killed his mother as a child. Now a college student, Ed Jr. decides to take his friends to his father’s fishing cabin in North Carolina during fall break. However, things take a turn as his father, Big Ed (Jack Chatham), is hiding in the house with plans to kill his son, while also murdering his son’s friends along the way.

Maffei said about the project, “I had 4 copies of The Mutilator (including a heavily edited family-friendly version!) and a promotional standee as a kid, so to be joining this sequel, working with Bud Cooper, some of the original returning cast, and jumping back in to raise some hell with Terry… it’s surreal. I am beyond excited.”

Filming begins in 2022, so keep your eyes on the official Facebook and Instagram pages for more updates. Tickets for Mad Monster Party 2022 are available here.

  1. For Immediate Release

Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. June 19, 2022. Principal photography has wrapped on Mutilator 2 the sequel to Buddy Cooper’s cult favorite The Mutilator and editing is well along the way–the fine cut is expected this week. Ruthie Martinez and Bill Hitchcock, who starred in The Mutilator, return to appear along with Terry Kiser (Weekend at Bernie’s and Friday the 13th part VII), Damien Maffia (The Strangers: Prey at Night and Wrong Turn) Eva Hamilton (Death Kiss and The Swing of Things) and Cody Cameron (El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie and Amazon’s A Hollywood Story) to name a few of the cast of approximately fifty.

Noteworthy performances are also delivered by Chaney Morrow, Ryan James, Loren Swan, Peter Bussain, Marco Reese Maldono, Bryden Elliot Digennaro, Page Duhon, Carl Grasso, Emily Bengston, Mark Francis, Dan Grogan, Anna Clary, Eric Six, Carroll Herring, Jesse Contente, Lyon Dorafshar and Colson Dorafshar.

Ruthie Martinez and Bill Hitchcock have stayed in contact with the other cast members of The Mutilator through the years. Ruthie even thinks of the other cast members as family. In addition to acting in Mutilator 2 Bill Hitchcock was also prop master. The Mutilator was made for the gore fans and did well on its opening and during its early life. Following its opening weekend The Mutilator was ranked thirteen on Weekly Variety’s chart of top grossing films and remained on the chart for six weeks. Once the film moved away from New York and Los Angeles it found difficulty getting bookings because it was un-rated. It became necessary to return to the MPAA to seek an R rating. To get the R the gory parts, which the gore fans called the good parts, had to be cut. The result was that the R-rated version was less interesting and financially unsuccessful. It is currently available in its uncut and R-rated versions on disc from Arrow Video and online at Amazon Prime and several other streaming sites.

Terry Kiser said that he was honored to be working with Buddy Cooper on Mutilator 2 and said that Cooper is “a legend in the horror genre.” Damien Maffia was also happy to work on Mutilator 2 and recalled that he had a lobby stand-up display from The Mutilator in his room when he was a boy.

The film is expected to be completed in September.
