‘Evil Dead: The Game’ Reunites Original Film’s Cast

Saber Interactive/Boss Team Games

This game just keeps getting groovier. There’s a lot of anticipation from horror fans, and especially from us here at HGL, for Evil Dead: The Game. From Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games, it looks to be a definitive video game adaptation by incorporating characters from throughout the franchise.

Fans of The Evil Dead, the first installment of the series that was released in 1981, should be particularly happy to know that the original cast will also be involved to reprise their voices. Using the voices and likenesses of the original stars, the game features Bruce Campbell’s Ash, Ellen Sandweiss’s Cheryl, and Hal Delrich’s Scotty as playable survivors. Betsy Baker’s Linda and Theresa Tilly’s Shelly are also confirmed to make special appearances. The developers have teased more characters and information to be revealed in the coming months.

There will be other characters from the franchise to appear beyond The Evil Dead. Watch out for Henrietta the cellar demon from Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn, as she’s in the game. Army of Darkness fans can take them on by playing a Lord Arthur and Henry the Red. Or perhaps those in the mood to revisit Ash vs. Evil Dead will bring the Ghost-Beaters into the fray by playing as Kelly or Pablo, and yes, both Dana DeLorenzo and Ray Santiago are returning.

Per the official website, the game’s logline reads: “Step into the shoes of Ash Williams or his friends from the iconic Evil Dead franchise and work together in a game loaded with over-the-top co-op and PVP multiplayer action! Play as a team of four survivors, exploring, looting, managing your fear, and finding key items to seal the breach between worlds in a game inspired by all three original Evil Dead films as well as the Starz original Ash vs Evil Dead television series.”

Evil Dead: The Game is coming in February 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
