Fiona Dourif, the prolific actress and daughter of horror icon Brad Dourif, will be starring in the upcoming film from Brando Lee (Gangster Wars), titled Don’t Look at the Demon. Though most of Dourif’s career has been through strong supporting roles, it seems she’ll be taking a leading role in the upcoming horror movie. Dourif joins Jordan Belfi (Entourage), Ashlyn Boots, Malin Crépin, and Harris Dickinson (Where the Crawdads Sing).

Like her father, Fiona Dourif is no stranger to the horror genre, landing supporting roles in several horror TV series, including Chucky, The Stand, and The Purge. She also followed in her dad’s footsteps by taking on a leading role in the Child’s Play series, playing Nica in Cult of Chucky, the franchise’s seventh installment from 2017.
According to Outsider Pictures, the synopsis of Don’t Look at the Demon reads:
Jules is part of an American team of paranormal TV investigators, who head into the idyllic highlands of Fraser’s Hill in Malaysia, to gather evidence at a house built in the 1970s. The home’s newest owners, Ian and Martha, claim to have experienced strange disturbances.
At first, the couple’s claims seem dubious, and the investigative team suspects the two may just be publicity seekers but Jules soon has her own horrifying experience in the basement, leading them to believe there might be more than meets the eye. As the crew delves deeper into the mystery, they encounter possessions and apparitions more terrifying than they’d ever witnessed. Secret rooms are discovered in the old house. Even darker secrets are uncovered in the history of the house with connections to an ancient forbidden Thai ritual, stillborn babies, restless female spirits, and a violent supernatural force that threatens to destroy all who come into contact with it. Only Jules, who had a supernatural encounter as a child, seems to be the one who can deal with it.
The Malaysian film’s screenplay was written by Brando Lee and Alfie Palermo, and will be released in the U.S. by Outsider Pictures. First released overseas on October 7th, 2022, the film is off to a strong start with an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Don’t Look at the Demon will released on DVD and on digital VOD on January 13, 2023.
