Cocaine Bear, one of the year’s most anticipated movies, debuted in theaters this weekend. To celebrate the release, Funko has unveiled two new Cocaine Bear Funko Pops for fans to collect.

The film is based on the true story of a bear ingesting a large amount of cocaine in Tennessee in 1985. Smugglers dropped the drugs, which proved to be a costly mistake. Although the unfortunate bear died soon after as a result of an overdose, things are a little different in Cocaine Bear, as the animal goes on a murderous rampage.

The first Cocaine Bear Funko Pop depicts the infamous incident in which the sitting bear eats cocaine from a duffle bag. The second is in a more menacing pose, with the bear showing its teeth and blood smeared across its face. It also has a bloody detached foot on its paw that is still wearing a hiking boot.

Cocaine Bear currently has a 71% approval rating from critics and a 73% approval rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Elizabeth Banks directed the film, which was written by Jimmy Warden. Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Christian Convery, Alden Ehrenreich, Brooklynn Prince, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Margo Martindale, and Ray Liotta star in it.

We recently talked with writer Jimmy Warden about the film’s release and a possible sequel. He told us, “Well, I definitely have ideas about how to expand the Cocaine Bear universe.” Although the premise is bizarre, he explained, “What I loved about the true story is how plausible it is, and it actually happened in reality. It is true. Duffle bags of cocaine fell out from the sky and into a bear’s habitat, and he ate it. So nobody can say you went too far; we’re not really sure that would ever happen. But you know that it’s real.”

Cocaine Bear is now playing in theaters nationwide.
