Metal Gear Solid Δ Snake Eater

After months of rumors and speculation, Sony’s PlayStation Showcase revealed the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake. It was also confirmed that the game will not be exclusive to the PlayStation 5. The remake will be available for the Xbox Series X/S and Windows. In a surprising change, the remake will be titled Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, with Δ pronounced as Delta.

The original title, directed by Hideo Kojima, was released almost 20 years ago, in November 2004. The game is the fifth installment in the Metal Gear Solid series and serves as a prequel. For players wanting to revisit (or play for the first time) the series, Sony also announced Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. in addition to the remake. The set will include MGS, MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, and MGS 3: Snake Eater. The company has not confirmed which consoles it will arrive on, but fans can expect it later this year.

Konami stated, “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be a faithful remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, originally released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2. A new generation of players and loyal fans alike can experience the origin story of the famed Big Boss and witness how his legend was forged in the crucible of Operation Snake Eater. The remake will star the original voice characters, rich storyline, and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound.”

Synopsis: Rival nations are secretly developing weapons that could threaten the future of mankind. Deep in the jungle, an elite soldier must combine stealth with survival to infiltrate the enemy and stop a weapon of mass destruction from triggering the largest full-scale war the world has ever seen.
