The Dive Trailer

RLJE Films has released the official trailer for the new underwater thriller The Dive. Following two sisters, the film imagines a remote dive going terribly wrong when one of them is pinned underwater. With oxygen quickly dwindling, the trapped woman’s sister must figure out a way to save her sibling with no help anywhere in sight. You can check out the trailer for the film below ahead of its premiere in theaters on August 25, 2023.

Max Erlenwein (Stereo) directed the film using a screenplay co-written with Joachim Heden (Breaking Surface). It stars Louisa Krause (Dark WatersThe Girlfriend Experience) and Sophie Lowe (Medieval, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland).

The official synopsis for The Dive is as follows:

“A deep-sea diving trip at one of the world’s most remote spots becomes a fight for survival for sisters Drew and May when a catastrophic landslide sends rocks tumbling into the sea. After being struck by the rockfall, May now lies 28 meters below the surface, trapped by debris and unable to move.
With dangerously low levels of oxygen, it is up to Drew to fight for her sister’s life. She must put her own life in jeopardy and risk paying the ultimate sacrifice. But with no help in sight, time is quickly running out…”

This film has a freaky concept in the sense that it’s a realistic scenario, something that can happen to anyone. That makes it easier for the audience to imagine themselves in the same horrifying situation. As producer Maximilian Leo previously teased, “The Dive takes audiences on an immersive journey of survival where the human body and mind are pushed to the limit, filled with breathtaking action and from the perspective of two female leads with rich character arcs.”
