Is Alucard’s presence missing on your PS4? Konami finally has a fix for that.
For so many old school gamers, the Castlevania series is one of the greatest. Fans still have a nostalgic love for many of the older titles in the series. Perhaps the most revered of them all is the PS1 game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which is still talked about to this day as one of the best titles that system had to offer. It’s still fun to play, but as a dated game, it’s not exactly easily accessible.
Fortunately, Konami is including the game as one of two newly-remastered titles for Castlevania Requiem. Along with Symphony of the Night, the game Castlevania: Rondo of Blood will also be included, which is remarkable as this 1993 title was released in Japan only. Exclusive to the PS4, Castlevania Requiem will feature hi-res backgrounds and 4K/1080p scaling. Trophy hunters will also be happy with all of the accompanying trophies they’ll now be able to track down.
The game is fairly priced at $19.99, and you can actually go ahead and pre-order it now. Anyone with an interest in the series who hasn’t played Symphony of the Night will find it worth it for that game alone. And even those who have played it should have a fun time once again picking it up.
It was recently announced that Sony will be selling a mini version of the PS1 this winter, dubbed the PlayStation Classic. Only five games have been confirmed to be included so far, with fans speculating on what else will make the cut. If Symphony of the Night isn’t part of the set, it’s nice that gamers can still revisit the classic game by picking up Castlevania Requiem.
Buy the game on your PS4 when it goes on sale on Oct. 26, 2018. You can watch the official announcement trailer from Konami below.
