Elvira Pleads ‘Don’t Cancel Halloween!’ in New Music Video

Elvira's "Don't Cancel Halloween!" on YouTube

Halloween is going to be a lot different this year, and the Mistress of the Dark is perhaps more distraught than any of us. In a new music video posted to YouTube, Elvira has one request that she pleads repeatedly: Don’t Cancel Halloween! It’s an idea many of us can get behind, even if many of us will have to celebrate the day differently this year. Of course, the video is hilarious and trademark Elvira, with entertaining lyrics and funny visuals.

In the video, Elvira laments over the things she’ll be missing out on with no Halloween. This includes the many different costumes we’d be seeing, like Freddy Krueger in a sweater, Freddy Mercury in leather, too many Tiger Kings, and girls in cat costumes crawling on the ground. Making things worse is that Halloween will be taking place on a Saturday during a full moon this year, which would normally have made a perfect night for the spooky holiday.

Performed by Elvira, the “Don’t Cancel Halloween!” music was produced by Holly Knight with lyrics by Jackie Beat. Jim Kunz directed and filmed the video.  Lyrics in the song also include lines like:

“If they cancel Halloween,
‘cuz we’re still in quarantine,
It would make me so mad.
It would suck, it would suck so bad!”

Along with:

“I’m the Queen
of Halloween.
Covid-19
ruined everything!”
