Kane Hodder is back in the mocap studio this week with Gun Media and IllFonic for future Friday the 13th: The Game content. This comes just a week after claims that developer IllFonic could be abandoning Friday the 13th: The Game and moving on to another upcoming game, Dead Alliance. Speaking to those rumors, IllFonic made the following statement to Eurogamer:

“With the recent success of Friday the 13th: The Game we have been increasing our staff on the title. We originally had about 20 internal team members working on Friday the 13th: The Game and are now up to about 30 internal team members. We also have opened a second office that sole purpose is to support development of Friday the 13th: The Game. In addition we are continuing to staff up more team members for continued support of the game. So we assure you, continued support for Friday the 13th: The Game has not been abandoned, in fact, it’s quite the opposite.”

It appears that the developers are backing their statement quite nicely and bringing us more content. Much of Kane Hodder’s time in the studio seems to be focused mostly on new awesomely violent kills, as seen in the video below. Stunt actors Kiralee Hayashi and Ryan J. Staats are also back on location, but further details on their exact roles haven’t been disclosed yet.

In case you missed it, Gun Media also announced this morning that physical copies for the game will launch on October 13th. The physical editions will be packaged with exclusive content, including a new “Bloody Jason” skin for all playable Jasons and counselor clothing packs. There was also a new map teased with a “Camp Hillbrook” sign. Gun has also said that another version of the “Bloody Jason” skin will be available for those with digital copies as well.

We’re hoping for more announcements while the team is in the studio this week, so stay tuned!
