luigi's mansion

As a longtime Nintendo fan, I still have many fond Gamecube memories. One of the very best games for the long-forgotten console would be Luigi’s Mansion. Finally starring in his very own title, the game lets Luigi take a break from playing second fiddle to Mario as he explores through a mansion filled with malevolent spirits.

That being said, I’m totally stoked about the news of Luigi’s Mansion getting an official remake for the 3DS. According to GameSpot, it was just one of a few surprise games announced at today’s Direct presentation for Nintendo. And, obviously, it’s made me a very happy gamer.

Although it will have updated graphics, the 3DS remake will feature all of the same levels from the original game. Utilizing the technology of the handheld console, however, an all new map system will be implemented with the bottom screen. Additionally, a new “Boss Rush” mode will be included as well.

The 3DS version of Luigi’s Mansion features the same storyline and levels as the original GameCube title, but now players can view a map of the mansion on the handheld’s bottom screen. The game also features a new Boss Rush mode and touched up visuals.

As of now, there’s no official release date for the Luigi’s Mansion remake. However, the game is set to arrive sometime in 2018. Stay tuned for more updates!
