We’ve seen Aaron Paul as a drug-addicted meth cook, an animated horse’s roommate, and a disenfranchised cult member. One role we’ve yet to see the Breaking Bad star portray, however, is that of a murderous robot. Perhaps that will change soon enough, as Deadline reports Paul has officially been cast for a role in Season 3 of HBO’s hit series, Westworld.

Reportedly, Paul is coming on board as a series regular, meaning his role will be substantial. There are no details on who (or what) he will be playing, however, so all we can do now is speculate. It’d be interesting if there was another park called Breaking Bad World with robot versions of the characters on the show, but sadly it’s doubtful that will be the case. Either way, casting the three time Emmy winner is a brilliant decision on the part of HBO.

After the conclusion of Breaking Bad, Paul has kept himself busy. He headlined the Hulu original series The Path, and lent his voice to the animated Netflix series Bojack Horseman. The actor will also appear in Apple’s upcoming anthology series Are You Sleeping?

On AMC, the Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul has been doing very well. As a prequel, it’s still possible we’ll see Paul reprise the role of Jesse Pinkman one day on the series. However, as of now, nothing has been confirmed one way or the other about Jesse’s return, but obviously fans of the series remain hopeful to see it happen eventually.

As for Westworld, there’s no word yet on when Season 3 of the series will premiere. Fans are certainly hopeful for a 2019 release date, but given the scope of the series and how long production might take, it could be 2020. Whenever it arrives, we’ll be there watching to see what Paul brings to the series.
