Stephen King and son Joe Hill have both proven to be very creative authors. It only makes sense that their collaborations would be especially interesting. That was the case for their second co-authored novella, which was the 2009 short story In the Tall Grass. With an interesting premise, the story is being adapted into a feature film for Netflix, due to arrive this year on the streaming service.
The story is a freaky tale about two twins, a brother and a sister, hearing a young boy named Tobin calling to them for help from the high grass of a Kansas field. Hoping to find the child and lead him out, the siblings venture into the grass, only to find themselves very quickly lost. With all three separated from each other, those trapped in the grass look for a way back out, but some kind of supernatural force keeps them inside. We won’t reveal the ending here, but it’s just as disturbing as what you’d expect from the team of King and Hill.
While Netflix has not given an official release date for In the Tall Grass, the company has confirmed the film will arrive on the service sometime in 2019.
