MCM London Comic Con is the UK’s biggest comic con, and it’s back this weekend, May 24-26, for the first show of 2019. Taking place at London’s huge ExCel exhibition and convention centre, there’s something for everyone, whatever your fandom(s) may be.

Fans have the chance to meet their favourite famous faces/voices, which include The Avengers Sebastian Stan; and Stranger Things/Hellboy himself, David Harbour. Supernatural fans are in luck too, with Misha Collins making an appearance, along with Arrow star Stephen Amell. Anime fans get to meet My Hero Academia’s voice cast, and gamers have the pleasure of an appearance from the Uncharted series’ Nolan North and Troy Baker. The cast of Clerks are reuniting at MCM to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the movie’s release, and there’s an entire guest section just for comic book writers and artists, including Mike Zeck and John Beatty.

As well as the photo ops and signings (priced individually, tickets can be purchased here for photo ops), fans have the chance to see panels and live Q&As with many of the guests, across six stages, throughout the weekend. I’m particularly excited for the Clerks anniversary panel and Nolan North and Troy Baker’s Retro Replay Live (based on their YouTube sensation).

Even if this plethora of guests doesn’t float your boat, there’s plenty more to see and do (and buy). For the ink fanatics amongst us, there’s some of the UK’s best geeky tattooists available for a permanent memento. The biggest TV and movie distributors, including Universal and Warner Bros., have all kinds of exciting exclusive experiences, as does PlayStation; and there’s an entire Comic Village to Marvel at (pun very much intended).

MCM prides themselves on the exclusive items they have at their events, and London has the biggest heap of exclusive swag you could get your hands on. This shows’ exclusive merch includes Marvel apparel and Funko POP!s.

There’s also stalls upon stalls of handmade merchandise and art, rare collectibles and retro memorabilia, from soap to Pokémon cards, your wallet will definitely be empty by the end of the weekend.

And no comic con would be complete without cosplay-a-plenty, and it’s no exaggeration to say the best cosplay I’ve ever seen was at last years’ MCM London. As well as a cosplay competition, the show also has a stage dedicated to panels with cosplayers, dishing out tips of the trade and anything else you could want to know about the most creative way to display your pop culture passions.

For those lucky enough to be attending, or even if you’re just curious, the show map can be found here, and all schedules can be found in the official show guide – a great read in itself – here.

Tickets can still be purchased here (I highly recommend a Priority ticket if you’re only going for one day!), but availability was limited at time of writing. Ticket prices: Friday £17.50 General Entry, £25.50 Priority; Saturday £19.50 General Entry, £28.50 Priority; and Sunday £18.00 General Entry, £26.50 Priority.
