Mortal Kombat 11 has unveiled all of its upcoming downloadable characters for its Pack 1 DLC, leaving some fans concerned about the appearance of the Joker. The legendary Batman nemesis was revealed to soon be coming to the game along with Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s T-800 from The Terminator and the comic book character Spawn. Classic Kombat character Sindel was also officially revealed in the trailer.
While it’s definitely exciting to see the Clown Prince of Crime heading to Mortal Kombat 11, some fans are none too happy with the way he looks. On social media, many gamers are criticizing the new Joker for his face paint, hair, and even his clothing. “Why does Mortal Kombat 11 Joker look like a cosplayer?” one fan writes on Twitter. Another laments, “Didn’t think they’d manage to do a worse Joker design than Injustice 2 but they found a way.” Worse yet, others have noticed an unfortunate resemblance to the performer who plays the Joker in an adult film parody version of Batman, and comparison images are going viral.

The Joker looked quite a bit different when he was included in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, so it’s not hard to see why some people are confused. Still, for anyone unhappy with the design, it’s important to note that the characters in Mortal Kombat 11 each have alternate outfits, and you may find some of Joker’s other threads to be more to your liking. Maybe it’s not the Joker some were expecting, but it’s still definitely awesome to see the legendary DC supervillain make it into the game.
In a stark contrast to the Joker, everyone seems to be happy with the inclusion of the T-800. Bearing the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Terminator character looks fantastic and it will definitely be fun to play as him. Similarly, Spawn looks pretty badass and is clearly a welcome addition to the franchise. Poor Joker is apparently taking all of the heat, but it’s probably best for us all to wait to actually see him in action before we critique him too much.
