Nicolas Cage Must Save His Kidnapped Pig in a Film Called ‘Pig’

Nicolas Cage never fails to amaze us with his legendary movie career, and he’s at it again with his next intriguing role. As reported by Deadline, the actor will appear alongside Hereditary star Alex Wolff in the upcoming movie Pig. Michael Sarnoski is directing, using a screenplay based on a story co-written with Vanessa Block. Cage and Block are also producing with Dimitra Tsingou, Thomas Benski, Ben Giladi, David Carrico, Adam Paulsen, Dori Rath, Joseph Restaino, and Steve Tisch.

While full details on the plot for the film are scarce, Deadline has revealed this synopsis: [Pig] follows a truffle hunter, played by Cage, who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness. When his beloved foraging pig is kidnapped, he must journey into Portland – and his long-abandoned past – to recover her.

“Michael’s vision for Pig is a true testament of his unique voice as a writer/director, and one that we can’t wait to introduce to audiences across the world,” says Pulse Films CEO Thomas Benski. “Having such an incredible cast attached, led by Nicolas Cage and supported by Alex Wolff, speaks directly to the special nature of the story Michael and Vanessa have devised. At Pulse Films, our focus has always been to work with the best talent and bring forward the best stories, Pig represents precisely that. We are thrilled to be working with such great partners on this project.”

Pig began production this week, but there is currently no official release date for the film yet revealed. Going by the plot description and Cage’s involvement, however, it certainly sounds like it could be fun. Meanwhile, the actor can be seen in the sci-fi flick Color Out of Space which recently had its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival.
