While we are all social distancing, the theaters may be closed, but the film community lives on. Straight out of Austin, Texas, The Austin Chronicle has been hosting online watch parties featuring Austin-made films for their “Now Streaming in Austin” series. Having already covered Miss Congeniality, Danger God, Also Starring Austin, Two Step, and Frances Ferguson, the series will now take on the most iconic horror film to ever be associated with the Lone Star State – 1974’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Synopsis: When Sally (Marilyn Burns) hears that her grandfather’s grave may have been vandalized, she and her paraplegic brother, Franklin (Paul A. Partain), set out with their friends to investigate. After a detour to their family’s old farmhouse, they discover a group of crazed, murderous outcasts living next door. As the group is attacked one by one by the chainsaw-wielding Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen), who wears a mask of human skin, the survivors must do everything they can to escape.
