Ahead of it’s release date next month, you can watch the trailer for the new clown horror film The Jack in the Box. While most films in the clown sub-genre of horror tend to be more on the comical side (and, of course, there’s nothing wrong with that), The Jack in the Box looks to be presenting its killer clown in a much more scary way.
The Jack in the Box follows a group of museum worker whose co-workers start vanishing one by one after their museum begins hosting an antique, over-sized jack-in-the-box. They soon discover that residing within is one of the most ghoulish looking clowns you’ll ever see, and it’s clear from the trailer alone you’ll want to avoid this one if you have a particular fear of clowns. For others, the film might even cause a newfound fear of clowns, but in any case, it looks to be worth a watch to find out for sure.
Directed and written by Lawrence Fowler, the film stars Ethan Taylor, Lucy-Jane Quinlan, and Robert Nairne as the titular killer clown. Fowler also produces alongside Geoff Fowler with 4Digital Media handing the distribution for The Jack in the Box.
The Jack in the Box will be released on VOD, Digital, and DVD on Tuesday, May 5. You can watch the official trailer for the film below!
Synopsis: When a museum is donated a vintage Jack-In-The-Box, it’s not long before staff member Casey starts to think that the creepy clown doll inside has a life of its own. As he discovers his colleagues are dying, one by one, Casey realizes it’s up to him to find a way to end the nightmare or become another victim of the box’s curse. The Jack In The Box is a heart stopping horror that will fuel your fear of clowns.
