‘Wrestlemassacre’ Piledrives Onto DVD This Month

Wrestlemassacre (Wild Eye Releasing)

Horror movies and pro wrestling come together in the frightfully fun slasher flick Wrestlemassacre, due out on DVD and via On Demand on June 16 from Wild Eye Releasing. Featuring real-life wrestler Richie “The Cuban Assassin” Acevedo in the lead role, the film also features former WWE Superstar Rene Dupree of La Resistance fame, as well as WWE Hall of Famers Tony Atlas and the late Nikolai Volkoff.

The trailer for the film will give you an idea of what Wrestlemassacre is like, and it’s just as crazy as you might expect. Certainly, the world of indie wrestling is horrifically violent enough, but what happens when a psychopath steps into the ring only to completely lose his mind? What you get is an over-the-top bloodbath that just might be the most bizarre film you’ll see this summer, and this will be particularly enjoyable for wrestling fans who also love horror.

Synopsis: Randy is an awkward groundskeeper who is obsessed with professional wrestling. Longing for a sense of belonging with grandiose dreams of becoming a wrestling superstar, he is only met with abject humiliation. A brutal shaming at a local wrestling school pushes Randy over the edge and sets out on a blood soaked rampage to punish those who wronged him.
