Danny Trejo Shows Off His ‘Animal Crossing’ Island

Danny Trejo in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Animal Talking with Gary Whitta)

In collaboration with the Animal Talking talk show, Danny Trejo has launched a new web-series set in his created town in the Nintendo Switch video game Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Dubbed Danny’s Diary With Danny Trejo, the first episode has been posted on YouTube with Danny offering a guided tour of his customized island. Given the level of detail put into the town, it’s clear Trejo is a big fan of the game and must have logged in many hours of playing. You can watch the video to see for yourself, but it’s just as entertaining as one might expect.

Of course, Danny’s character in the game looks like a little cartoon version of the legendary movie star. As he’s typically known for playing villainous characters and total badasses in his many film roles, it’s fun to see Danny taking such delight in catching butterflies and befriending cute animals in a family-friendly Nintendo game. The Machete star offers commentary and answers questions about his town. This includes a humorous moment of Trejo lamenting over how he was stung by wasps after shaking the wrong tree.

Danny has built some interesting additions seen on his island as well. This includes his own version of Muscle Beach, with exercise equipment, a boombox, and a customized sign on the actual beach. Trejo also has a food stand on his island, offering tacos and apple fritters that are the best in the world. “We have vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and you can bite into a cow if you want to,” Trejo jokes of the in-game eatery.

You can take the virtual tour of Trejo’s New Horizons island below, and you can also watch out for more new installments of Danny’s Diary With Danny Trejo on Gary Whitta of Animal Talking’s YouTube channel.
