Dan Aykroyd to Narrate Ghost Stories for ‘Hotel Paranormal’

Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd is set to speak about real-life encounters people have had with ghosts in the upcoming Travel Channel series Hotel Paranormal. Set to premiere on the network next month, the new series will consist of 10 one-hour episodes, each installment bringing to life “terrifying encounters with dramatic re-creations and paranormal expert insights.” Aykroyd will serve as the official narrator for Hotel Paranormal, an apparent expert on the subject both on and off the movie screen.

“As a longtime believer in ghosts, I think the incredible encounters we’re highlighting on Hotel Paranormal will open up a lot of minds and hopefully break through some of the skepticism people carry about the paranormal,” Aykroyd says in a statement of the new series. “I’m excited to lend my voice to help bring viewers across the United States, these gripping real-life ghost stories, many of which take place in their own backyards.”

Some information has also been released about what the episodes of the series will explore. The premiere will follow the stories of a travelling salesman who checks into a motel and observing paranormal activity on his cell phone, only to get possessed by a malevolent spirit; a teenage student and his friends accidentally unleashing an ancient evil while on a school trip; and a journalist chasing a story who checks into an inn and encounters supernatural forces. Of course, whether these stories are true or not will be entirely up to the viewer to decide.

Hotel Paranormal will premiere on Saturday, July 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the Travel Channel. The remaining episodes of the season will follow each additional Saturday night at the same time until the season finale. Meanwhile, fans can also look forward to catching Dan Aykroyd back in action as the famous Ghostbusters Ray Stantz when Ghostbusters: Afterlife hits theaters on March 5, 2021.

  1. Paranormal activity, ghosts, and hauntings are very real. It is not always what you see in the movies but sometimes can have similarities. There is a way to help them cross and restore the space to a peaceful state.
